While working on the new face of our dubz shop, we got to the conclusion we should consult you on this idea of making a label to represent the members!
We have what it takes to get it running, but not going to happen if we are not sure we can rely on your support!
Since we can't afford more memebers in the team (the work we do here is pretty much benevolent), you gotta be our team when it comes about the promotion.

We could do like monthly compilations or ep's with the best unsigned tracks we can find around here.

Other technical details can be fixed at a later time, but for now, let us know what you think!

can be as proper as we want it, just i wouldn't dive into vinyl right now, doesn't seem like good times to risk it... maybe on a donation basis to fund it... but this is like a bit far fetched or something

yes I meant digital also. a physical would require more experience and digital can be a good experimentation field as its less risky (by economical meanings). About donations, feel like every member of label team should contribute an equal sum of money, think should also be community-driven, so every member does not have a single role and many can partecipate. Anyway I'm all open ears & ideas!

1) Donations,I think its a great idea.No minimun tho as times are rough all over.
2) Unsigned Compilations,Is a great idea (they would go great with a Donation..possibly)
3) I would love to see a Collaborator Corner (so to speak) ,Where we could expand our musical reach and learn from each other as well.(just an idea)..blessings 2 ALL!!!

i think the site is providing all the linkage needed, i would rather focus just on promoting our tunes + providing a bit of financial support for future developments cuz i feel the times coming will make things more difficult for everyone, but we can benefit here from the community power, if this is proves to be a good idea.

i mean it will be mutual interest for all members to promote the releases as this will increase everybody's chances here to get noticed. obviously this makes sense only if the quality standards are big too, but after listening stuff around i think it's not gonna be a problem

Right with Alien, about a donation basis to fund the label! Vinyl can plays the role, if somebody of us want to increase his label support, recording his music, paying a different price (littel bit expensive)! Distribution will maneged by himself. Idea is to fund the label not to sell vinyl. Not yet!
In unison with you about our promoting role too! I' m from Rome and here dubstep scene is growing up in this days! First time in history we got a dubstep night in Rome. Every Sunday. Bit is expanding quickly! Shops got few labels! Not much time yet! I think it's a good market! A young window were insert our label as protagonist! But it' s about future!
Now it's time to join us and support our work buying the tunes. I agree!
I'm ready to give you all the best I can from Italy! I got also a Myspace and I'm ready to promote our progect when it will launched!
We need a shared strategy and I'll waiting it detailed! I'm fuckin' agree talking about this digital label as the best answer to crossroads or slumps! no one of my friends got italian labels to promote their music! Italy got a big musical hole....Rome especially! Vinyl risky scaring labels a lot. Dubstepxclusive's digital label is the right opportunity to improve artists product, attending from producing to recording if it's worth it! Selecting best of them by members and net elections! The net is a good thing 'cause it's quite free. I think, if there's a future.... it's right here! On dubstepxclusive!

i want to clarify an aspect:
i have a tiny bit of experience, along the times i guess i've been involved in about 6 labels, and we've all seen money doing bad things to human relationships.
this why i am cautious with our kru managing money that's not earned by us. we want to interfere as less as possible in the cash circuit.
of course we'll cut our share for our work on the label, but we're even thinking making it much smaller than the usual 50%.

so i want to see if we can find ways to get it going without donations and if we really get to a point where these are required, then we won't be absurd.

but so far we're not there yet! ;)

I think the more you can help and bring in your experience, the better this experience will be. I'm sure there are also other people here around with previous experience which are willing to get involved. Some questions out of curiosity. Label relying solely on sales to cover costs, how many of us it needs to do so roughly? Us buying more times the same track can be an option too? Could/Would Dubkraft support this project about the technical aspect? I mean, since it should be a community-driven thing, quality needs to be the highest possible, tracks which are coming out should be professionally mixered and mastered, properly, in proper studios. Of course this is a cost, do you at DubKraft do this thing 'in-house' ? Or you have got some agreement with some studios since you get discount for mixing/mastering more than, for example, 10 tracks a month?
